The table saw

The table saw is the workhorse in most woodworking shops. It can be found in commercial businesses (often in the form of the sliding table saw) as well as in the small workshop of the ambitious private user. For the latter target group, the semi-stationary variants (such as the MAFELL Erika or the Festool table saw) are used or the larger stationary machines (like the Laguna Fusion table saw, which we also offer)..

Which saw blade for the circular table saw?

Private woodworkers should have at least three saw blades in their arsenal for their circular saw:

  • Saw blade for fine and finest cuts across the grain.
  • Saw blade for coarse cutting, especially in the direction of the grain.
  • Universal blade, which can also be used to cut wood-based panels.

It should be noted that many larger machines are equipped with a scoring unit, the use of which is recommended for coated panels and for which a second, smaller saw blade is required.

Most commercial users and those private individuals who work more frequently with materials other than solid wood and wood-based panels (e.g. plastics, non-ferrous metals or composites) will take this into account and keep appropriate special or multi-purpose circular saw blades on hand for these materials.
