FAQ, Videos and more

The connections and hoses of the industrial vacuum cleaners are matched to the Festool system so that the perfect, tight connection to the power tools ensures exceptionally high suction efficiency. Depending on the model, the mobile extractors can be connected to the Festool systainers or can be controlled by corresponding Festool power tools via Bluetooth. Some models are available in Autoclean variants, where the main filter is cleaned automatically at infinitely adjustable intervals.

Choosing the right Festool vacuum depends on the size and dust class required.

Differences between the festool extractors

Differentiation according to the size of the mobile extractor

When selecting the right Festool extractor, you should consider the following criteria: The intended use determines the size of the suction mobile. You should consider the amount of dust generated to avoid frequent cleaning of the filter and emptying of the container.

Differentiation according to dust classes

When choosing a Festool extractor, it is also important to consider the materials that will be produced as dust.

  • Dust class L: You should only use the lowest dust class L for general extraction work that produces non-hazardous dust (household dust and the like).
  • Dust class M: For most woodwork, a class M industrial Vacuum cleaner is required because wood dust is potentially hazardous to health. A Festool extractor in this class can also safely remove a variety of other dusts (varnish, paint, filler, cement, concrete and more).
  • Dust class H: Some wood dusts (e.g. oak, but also many exotic woods) are particularly hazardous to health or are considered carcinogenic. For this purpose, you should choose a class H extractor, with which you can also vacuum asbestos or mould.

Special features of the Festool extractors

The lighter and smaller Festool extractors such as the CTL MINI/MIDI or the CTL-SYS (a mobile extractor in a Systainer) are predestined for mobile use on the building site and for assembly work, but are also useful in the workshop for quick use in between. They are also perfectly adequate for the purposes of many hobby craftsmen. The latest development in the Festool range is the cordless vacuum cleaner, with which you can ensure cleanliness in an even more flexible and mobile way. If larger amounts of dust accumulate frequently in the workshop, you should consider using a larger Festool extractor (CTL or CTM 36 or 48).

Festool extractor accessories

The industrial Vacuum cleaners are complemented by an extensive range of accessories and consumables. From filters and filter bags to extraction hoses, tubes, nozzles and brushes to push handles, tool holders and extraction arms, the range is precisely matched to the extractors to achieve optimum extraction results.
