- Face milling cutter
Face milling cutters are suitable for machining hard and soft woods, plastics, laminates and board materials such as chipboard or plywood. They are face and circumferential cutting. The smaller diameters are used, for example, to countersink hinges, while larger face milling cutters can be used to rout flat surfaces. With a router sled, such as the sauter SlabMatrix, a hand router with a large face routing cutter can even be used as a substitute for a surface planer.
