The flush routing cutter - the tool for edge processing
Clean routing of protruding edges is possible with the flush routing cutter, which belongs to the group of wood routing cutters.
Cutter attachment in various designs
Among the flush routing cutters there are 2- or 3-edged routing cutters, as well as routing cutter attachments with and without ball bearings, whereby the thrust bearing can be mounted on the shank side or as standard. Flush routing cutter with Exchangeable plates have screwed-on knives which are ground on both sides. This has the advantage that the blade can be turned and the routing cutter is immediately fully operational again. If both sides are used up, the entire cutter does not have to be replaced or sharpened, but only new blades, i.e. replacement blades, have to be purchased.
routing cutters with an axis angle perfectly remove any edge overhangs that may occur, for example, when gluing the edge. The axially negatively inclined knives change the cut to a pulling cut so that much better results can be achieved when cutting plastics or long-fibre woods.
Choosing the right size
When selecting the flush routing cutter, pay attention to the correct shank diameter, 8 mm and 12 mm being the most common sizes. Here you will find all flush routing cutters with 12 mm shank. Further important data are the diameter, the shaft length and the the useful length. The individual dimensions are illustrated in the respective categories.
