Professional Tormek sanding machines
What you won't find here
A grinder can very quickly render a good tool useless - if you use a high-speed machine without cooling. The cutting edge on such a machine overheats very quickly, it burns out and is then unable to cut or withstand stress (it breaks out quickly). We therefore do not offer such sanders.
Advantages of Tormek sanders
We offer two sanders from the premium manufacturer Tormek. What the Tormek wet sanders have in common is that they have neither of the two negative features mentioned above.
- They run at only 120 rpm and offer a sophisticated water cooling system to prevent the blade steel from overheating.
- Other common features of the Tormek grinders are the simple replacement of the grinding wheel, the equipment with the precise universal support and an additional leather disc to remove tool cutting edges after grinding, and the fine adjustment by means of a trapezoidal thread.
Differences between the Tormek sanders
The main difference between the Tormek T4 and T8 sanders is their size: The smaller T4 is particularly suitable for private users (and commercial users with limited workshop space), while the T8 shows its strengths in commercial use. It also scores with convenience features such as the lowerable water tray and the drip tray for water droplets when sanding long tools.
Almost any tool can be sanded with the Tormek accessories
With the appropriate devices, you can sharpen almost any tool that you use in the home or workshop. Whether it's (small or large) knives, scissors or axes, or plane irons, chisels and drills in the woodworking shop: Tormek offers the appropriate device for holding and adjusting tools during sharpening. The manufacturer has also paid particular attention to the needs of wood turners, whose tools often pose special challenges when it comes to sharpening.
