These auger bits are used especially for deep hole drilling in hardwoods and exotic woods, such as Bongossi. The lower blades ensure less heat development and thus lead to a considerably longer service life compared to the normal "Lewis" form. For softwoods we recommend to use the normal version with pre-cutters.
The auger bits can be used in hand drills and joinery machines.
