Spiral flute cutters combine a shearing action during cutting with a worm action during chip removal. The shearing action provides a particularly clean, precise cut, while the worm action removes the chips from the cut.
The 'down-cut' cuts from the surface downwards, leaving a smooth edge on the surface.
A special, unique carbide grade with increased flank geometry and razor-sharp cutting edges with polished flutes provides an excellent finish and longer tool life, especially with abrasive materials. Excellent for making grooves and flute cuts in chipboard, plywood and laminate. Used mainly on CNC machines and other automatic routers. Can be used with hand-held and table-mounted portable routers.
