The spiral-shaped flute, as known from classic twist drills, enables a continuous pulling cut. This leads to significantly less vibration than classic end mills with vertical cutting edges.
Difference between right-hand and left-hand twist?
Right-hand twist spiral end mills are particularly suitable for a clean milling base and transport chips away quickly and safely to the top. However, chipping may occur on the top of the workpiece. , on the other hand, prevent tearing on the top of the workpiece, but push the chips downwards onto the bottom of the flute.
