General information on selecting the band saw blade:
The wider the band saw blade (according to your saw's capabilities), the longer the service life.
The narrower the band, the better small radii can be cut. (Tail blade)
Tooth pitch 2, 3 and 4 tpi for coarser cuts and thick material.
Tooth pitch 4, 6 and 8 tpi for longitudinal and cross cuts; best ratio between cleanliness and cutting speed.
Tooth pitch 10 and 14 tpi for fine and clean cuts, for thin or soft material (e.g. also cuts in plywood)
