When the first carbide-tipped circular saw blades were manufactured in the original Feilenhauer operation in 1960, no one probably thought that this would lead to the emergence of an internationally active company with around 500 employees in the following 50 years. Every beginning is difficult, and the small manufacturing had to fight for survival more than once.
It was not until the late 1960s that things started to improve, when carbide-tipped saw blades gained ground and boomed in the wood industry. This allowed competitors' salespeople to be poached and investments to be made in new employees, machinery, and in 1971, a new building. Additional branches quickly followed, including those abroad. Over the years, many milestones were achieved by the emerging company, including several patents and market-shaping innovations that further strengthened its market position.
