Perforated worktop for multifunctional table

For multifunctional tables and workbenches, the 20 mm diameter perforated grid system has become established. The largest range of accessories for multifunctional tables exists for this, such as workbench clamps, bench dogs and other devices. Anyone is free to drill or rout a perforated worktop themselves. However, it is faster and more precise to use workbench plates that are manufactured with the highest CNC precision.

We offer the following three variants: 

  • sauter perforated worktop: Made of MDF material for indoor and damp areas in the 1,200 x 800mm format. These are directly compatible with the sauter base frame UG2.0.
  • Vario-Bench: Multifunctional plate with intelligent perforated grid for angle-precise saw cuts in the format 1,200 x 800 mm, as well as in the format for the Festool MFT (1,102 x 718mm).
  • Festool perforated worktop: For the Festool MFT in the dimensions 1,102 x 718mm.

 

There are no limits to the possible applications of a perforated grid plate. Whether routing, sawing, drilling, grinding or clamping: A workbench with a perforated grid is not called multifunctional for nothing.

For which applications do I use a perforated worktop?

A perforated worktop is suitable for a wide range of applications. A workbench with a perforated worktop is also called a multifunctional table (MFT). The possible applications range from routing, sawing, drilling, grinding to fastening the workpiece.

What are the sizes of the perforated worktops?

The 20 mm hole grid system has become established in our (metric) countries and can be combined with a wide range of accessories for multifunctional tables. The manufacturers of these accessories focus on the 20 mm diameter. In countries with predominantly imperial scales, the 3/4" (19.05 mm) diameter is often used. Grids with 1" or 30 mm diameter are sometimes used for multifunctional tables.

Which accessories are useful for a perforated worktop?

No general answer can be given. The accessories required depend on the application. Special focus should be placed on the accessories that hold the workpiece in place on the workbench. We recommend workbench clamps, toggle clamps for workbenches or bench dogs, which are used as a stop for the workpiece.
