Brake Cartridges: SawStop’s brake cartridges provide groundbreaking safety by stopping the blade within milliseconds of detecting skin contact.

Features & benefits
- Stops the saw blade within 5 milliseconds of contact.
- Is triggered by contact with conductive material and the saw blade.
- Examples:
- Human skin (hands!)
- Metal (aluminium, brass,...)
- Wet, freshly cut wood
- Trapped staples and nails do not trigger the cartridge.
- Is required to operate SawStop circular table saws.
- Very easy to fit: attach, lock, continue.
- If the brake has been triggered by a finger or hand you can send the cartridge to SawStop and they will provide a FREE replacement
- Once the AIM cartridge has been released, it must be replaced. It is also strongly recommended to replace the saw blade, even if there is no visible damage! Therefore it’s a good idea to keep an extra brake cartridge and blade on-hand in case of a contact event. Simply replace the blade and cartridge and you’re back to work.
