Tormek TTS-100 Turning Tool Setter
Used with the SVD-186 R Gouge Jig and SVS-50 Multi Jig.
The TTS-100 Turning Tool Setter allows you to repeat the exact sharpening angle of most woodturning tools with incredible ease once you know your profiles. It only takes a few seconds, making the sharpening process significantly faster.
The TTS-100 Turning Tool Setter works independently of the diameter of the grinding wheel. You always get the same bevel angle – even if your grindstone gets worn smaller over time. So you can also use the turning tool setter when setting the bevel angle on the honing wheel.

- The setting gauge makes it easy to repeat the exact grinding angle of most turning tools.
- The diameter of the grinding wheel does not matter, the bevel angle always remains the same.
- Three factors affect the shape of the tool: the setting of the jig, the projection of the tool from the jig and the distance to the grinding wheel - all reproducible thanks to the setting gauge.
- To repeat the tool angle and profile, simply write the respective setting on the file labels.
- After the first shaping, the setting gauge is used to remove as little material as necessary to get the tool razor-sharp again - for maximum tool life.
- For a new mould on a turning tool, the gauge can also be used in combination (with the BGM-100 assembly set) on a double grinder, then this profile can be used again on the wet grinder for honing.
