Mekanika laser head kit 6W
Powerful, precise laser head specialising in engraving a wide range of materials with exceptionally high resolution. Its microscopic beam has a very high power density, allowing it to cut thin sheets with precision.
Note: if you already have a Mekanika machine, ask us first if it fits.
Two machines in one
Your machine can now be upgraded to do the work of two different machines! Give your creations the power of laser cutting, etching and engraving.
The laser model is a PLH3D-XT-50 from OptLaser. It is a 450 nm LED laser with an optical power of 6 W (mainly designed for engraving, although it can cut thin materials).
Our kit contains everything you need to get your laser running smoothly on your Mekanika CNC machine.

Features & benefits
-
Plug-and-play installation: Mount the interface plate and the docking station, plug in the cables and you're ready to go! Simply attach the laser head to the magnetic docking station and it will automatically align and switch on.
When you are finished using the laser, simply remove it and place the protective cover on the docking station to ensure it is dust-free from the milling operations performed on your CNC machine.
-
A unified workflow: Experience the easy integration of this new laser functionality into your usual workflow, using the same user-friendly interface and software you are used to from your spindle. Switching between milling and laser processing is as easy as pressing a button.
Setting the focal length is also very simple: you can use the same tool probe that comes with your CNC machine. There is no need to move the Z-axis slowly and check it manually with a height gauge.
In terms of G-code, we recommend you use Opt-lasers' free G-code generator to cut and engrave lines, although you have the flexibility to use any CAM software of your choice. For those looking for more advanced engraving capabilities, we recommend using Lightburn, which also delivers excellent results.

Detailed engraving or cutting of soft materials: This laser head can achieve an accuracy of < 50 μm for engraving on materials such as wood, cardboard, paper, foam, rubber, acrylic or leather, to name but a few.
This very small bar also enables the cutting of materials with thin, even cutting lines. Here are some examples of the cutting capability:
- 10 mm softwood in 5 passes at 300 mm/min*
- 20 mm polyfoam in 4 passes at 780 mm/min*
- 2 mm rubber in 1 pass at 1000 mm/min
- 1.8 mm micro-surface impact acrylic in 10 passes at 900 mm/min*
-
*Use of the high-pressure air nozzle support
-
Ultra-HD engraving: Up to 500 DPI engraving capacity on materials such as ceramic tiles, with significantly faster results than other laser heads without anamorphic optics.
-
Precise metal engraving:The microscopic beam spot enables precise and small engravings to be made in a variety of hard materials, including stainless steel or aluminium.
