Saw blades for wood and wood-based materials
When processing wood and wood materials, it is necessary on the one hand to distinguish more precisely between the different materials and on the other hand to determine the desired cutting quality. This determines factors such as the number of teeth and the tooth geometry of the circular saw blade. For the choice of saw blade, it makes a difference whether you want to saw native hardwood, softwood or tropical wood. For solid wood, it is also important to consider whether you are cutting longitudinally or across the grain.
For wood-based panels, factors such as any (single or double-sided) coating or veneer and the material of the coating also play an important role in achieving tear-free results. But the binder of the wood material should also be taken into account when choosing a saw blade - the service life can vary greatly depending on the hardness of the binder. For the most common applications in the field of wood and wood materials, we offer circular saw blade sets with which you are well equipped for most cases.
For more detailed information on choosing the right saw blade, see the FAQ section in the Circular saw blade category.
Saw blades for plastic, aluminium, iron and steel.
For the occasional processing of plastics and aluminium, you can usually fall back on a good universal saw blade, which can also be used to saw wood and other materials as required. However, if you need to saw plastics, aluminium, iron or steel and non-ferrous metals more often, it is worth buying special saw blades that pay for themselves in terms of longer service life and higher cutting quality..
A special role in this context is played by diamond-tipped circular saw blades, which come into their own when sawing solid wood and wood-based materials, but preferably when sawing mineral materials of all kinds and other extremely abrasive materials.
