Using a motor and lift in your router table provides significantly more flexibility and precision compared to using a plunge router mounted in a table insert. It simplifies standard tasks and enables shaping of narrower boards, straightening board edges, trimming edges, and various other woodworking tasks. Router tables enhance the accuracy and efficiency of all router-related work. Moreover, they enable operations typically reserved for a shaper, such as edge shaping, hinge making, dado cutting, and a range of woodworking tasks beyond the capability of a standalone plunge router.
